Longtime area restaurant forced to close, auctioning off relics

BRAINTREE, Mass. -- Fiberglass cows, antler chandeliers? A local steakhouse is selling off all kinds of crazy relics.

The Hilltop Steakhouse is closing up shop on the South Shore as a car dealership is rolling in.

So they decided to get rid of all their leftovers.

The Hilltop Restaurant in Braintree is going..going...gone.

And so is all the memorabilia inside...

Today, the restaurant auctioned off 450 items, from old horse saddles to antique paintings.

The most popular item today, chandeliers made out of antlers.

And fiberglass cows on the front lawn, they were up for auction too.

But if you wanted to buy yourself a bovine it wasn't cheap, they went for almost a $1,000.

The Hilltop Restaurant went out of business on February 10 and will be torn down and replaced by a Toyota dealership.

Craig and Susan Wallace are sad to see the restaurant go, so they bought a sign today as a way for the Hilltop to live on in their home.
