Victim in hospital after overnight crash

LOWELL, Mass. -- A young man is seriously hurt in a car crash overnight.

It happened on the VFW parkway in Lowell.

Police say the driver lost control of his Chevy pickup truck, hit a tree and then landed on a guard-rail.

The victim, a 20-year-old - was medflighted to the Boston Medical Center.

He's being treated for serious head trauma.

Police have not released the victim's name or what caused the crash.
