St. Anthony’s Shrine in Downtown Crossing installs ‘giving kiosk’

BOSTON -- “Cash or credit?” isn’t something you usually get asked at church.

Now, St. Anthony’s Shrine in Downtown Crossing will allow parishioners to donate using their creditor or debit card.

This is the first Catholic church in the world to install a “giving kiosk,” that allows people the option to make electronic donations.

The machine is located right in the Shrine’s vestibule. According to the church, they have had a very positive response to the new technology.
