Boston fire official faces additional sex charges

BROCKTON, Mass. -- Three more women have come forward with accusations that a Boston deputy fire chief pretended to be a police officer and forced them to have sex with him.

Bridget Norton Middleton, spokeswoman for the Plymouth District Attorney, said Wednesday that the latest charges against Peter Pearson stem from attacks that allegedly occurred in 1997, 2000 and 2002.

Pearson, 51, is already charged in three other attacks, to which he has pleaded not guilty. He is held without bail.

Middleton said Pearson will be arraigned in Brockton District Court next Wednesday on new charges that include rape, kidnapping, impersonating a police officer as well as assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

The first allegation was made in June when a woman detained by Brockton police told officers she had been sexually assaulted by a patrol officer two weeks earlier.

Pearson's attorney has questioned the credibility of his accusers.
