Tom Tierney’s stance on voter issues:
-We’ve got to dead-stop any more cuts to Social Security. Solvency can be restored with a slight FICA tax increase, a modest Wage Base extension and stricter disability access.
-Obamacare must morph into: Medicare if you’re 65 or older; Optionally Electable Medicare if you’re under age 65 [Businesses and Local Governments will lap this up]; and Medicaid for all ages as a low income supplement.
-Taxes have got to be restored to the no-deficit/booming-economy levels of the Clinton-Gingrich era. Most politicians know this; they just hope to lie their way through one more election.
-Unemployment must be tackled head-on. People who need and want a job ought to have one. Employer subsidies, a Humphry-Hawkins last-resort/low-income approach - - whatever it takes - - must all be considered.
