Joe Selvaggi is the Republican candidate for the Massachusett's 8th congressional district.
Joe Selvaggi is the grandson of Italian immigrants, a US Navy veteran of the first Gulf War, a graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and owner of the family-oriented business he helped found and build, Plaster Fun Time. He is a longtime resident of the 8th district and recently graduated from Harvard's Kennedy School with a Masters of Public Administration.
Serving in the Navy taught him that there are avenues open for self-improvement. As a software industry executive, he came to understand people management, and learned he was passionate about making people's lives better. In building Plaster Fun Time from the ground up, he had the chance to put in the long hours and attention to detail my clientele—children—deserve.
To a large extent, Selvaggi’s dedication to children led him to the Kennedy School, because the future cannot be assumed. A viable future has to be created now and he doesn’t believe enough is being done economically, environmentally, or diplomatically.
At a time when party affiliations can be contentious, Selvaggi identifies himself as a Republican he believes the strength of America is in its belief in the power of the individual. He believes we have abandoned our confidence in the choices of citizens in favor of the edicts of government; a trend that needs to be reversed.
