Rockefeller Mystery

FIRST ON 7: Limo driver for Rockefeller may face charges

BOSTON -- The getaway driver for the man calling himself Clark Rockefeller may face charges.

7NEWS has learned that Daryl Hopkins, the man behind the wheel for Rockefeller's alleged kidnapping scheme is back in Boston and may be charged with accessory after the fact.

Hopkins' attorney Geoffrey Nathan said his client will be in Suffolk District Court Thursday to face the charge.

"My client did not know that he was engaged in a kidnapping," said Nathan.

Hopkins originally told 7NEWS that he believed Rockefeller's story about trying to shake a clingy lover, unaware it was a social worker who tried unsuccessfully to stop his car.
